Texas Longhorns 2020 MLB Draft

In brainstorming for the 2020 MLB Draft, our team came up with recreating MLB The Show 20 video game to represent the path to the pros that the University of Texas Baseball program offers. The creative for this project includes elements both from the game itself and our own brand.
The creative for this project was largely inspired by the past/present game covers and in-game menus/graphics. We wanted each item to be easily recognizable as the game while still maintaining our brand. Each of the video pieces also includes PS4 animations recreated to display the Texas branding, tying in the video game theme with the end slate.
These pieces were released ahead of the draft as "teasers" to promote some of our former players in the Major Leagues (Brandon Belt, Tres Barrera, & Brandon Workman) and the upcoming draft.
To announce the selection of our player(s), we prepared an edit player screen for each that was followed by "selecting" the team in a menu similar to what you'd see in the play now feature. Each potential draft pick was created within the game ahead of time and rotoscoped out into our version of the game. All 30 teams were prepared featuring a 3D logo and New Era hat.
Similar to the "select team" video, this piece instead drops down to highlights of Bryce Elder at Texas.
The goal of this piece was to show highlights of Bryce Elder within the game and then to transition to him achieving the same success at the next level. Much of the screen capturing was done ahead of time so that only capturing his MLB team would be necessary once he was selected.
Finally, a jersey swap of Elder in his new Atlanta Braves uniform, on the mound at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia.
