Semester project for the Geomedia module at TU Wien as part of the International M.Sc. Cartography
Vienna is a fantastic city for strolling around and looking up and down at all the delightful buildings. What makes a wander particularly enjoyable is spotting the old shop signs, some still with the associated business below in place, but often only remaining as "left-overs" on the facade.
I took photos of many I encountered, and when my lecturer asked for a typography-related assignment I assembled some of them in a way to try to cover the entire alphabet. Unfortunately, at the time of the deadline the letters J,V and W were missing.
I gotta go back to Vienna to hunt those down...
P.S. one of my absolute favourites is the Schaumstoff Boutique...what a great name for such a mundane product. Never been in there, but I image a glamorous foam fitting experience.
