Nipmuc Community and Education Center Master Plan

The Nipmuc are known as the "freshwater people." Their original territory composed over 2,000 square miles within central Massachusetts, northeastern Connecticut, and northern Rhode Island, headwaters for some major water systems like the Connecticut and Blackstone rivers. Now there is an opportunity for them to create a community and education center at the heart of this territory on a 42-acre property in West Brookfield, MA. This suitability study and master plan explores where to best site buildings and other program components, how to meet the Nipmuc Tribe's needs through several design alternatives and a final design, and evaluates renewable engergy on the site.
