Producer of the production, Wasfeh, an Arabic theatrical production written and directed by Omar Zaatarah with the support of a passionate all-student cast and crew.

Wasfeh is a theatre initiative that my close friend Omar and I pursued during our senior year of college. As business students and theatre enthusiasts, we wanted to prove to our community the value (literally and metaphorically) of theatre. Therefore, we cast talented students and assembled a passionate crew from different majors.

As the producer of this production, I created and managed the budget, successfully negotiated with different sponsors and investors, located the venue and drafted a contract deal with the owner, handled official paper work for the government license, managed the crew, designed the marketing plan, controlled ticket sales and promotions, and worked closely with the talented set designer, Qamar Al-Ali,  who successfully redesigned the space to match the director's vision while also utilizing it for maximum audience capacity.

The secret of this production was that even though it was performed in a room of a semi-abandoned building in Beirut by a bunch of students from different backgrounds and majors, it was still conceived by a team of passionate people each doing what they love to do.
The marketing plan that I set for this production was meant to reflect the play's message. Wasfeh was a form of 'Mise en Abyme', as in it starts off being a play about 4 friends who want to cook up a plan to become wealthy, but as the story line develops, it ends up being a play within that play discussing how female artists and actresses are sexualized rather than respected for their content and art. Therefore, I wanted to project that in our marketing strategy with weekly posts that show how the word "Wasfeh" (ingredient) becomes "Mwazafeh" (laborer).
