The design and installation of a new reception area at the
Chivas Regal Distillery in Dalmuir. The project focused
on using reclaimed timber and materials as much as
possible. It was important to the client to find a way of
incorporating whisky casks which led to the barrel staves
being used as a clad screen which hides the electrics and
clocking in machine from arriving visitors.

This was a project with Glasgow Wood Recycling,
a Social Enterprise which combats social isolation
and mental health problems in the community by
teaching people how to work with reclaimed wood.
The entire project was designed with the
organisations workshop volunteers in mind.
This meant that each item was designed to be
suitable for any of the volunteers to feel confident
and comfortable with the manufacturing and
installation process.
