Bluff Knoll Sunrise Mission
With the car fuelled up and ready to go we left our house at 8pm fully prepared and stocked up for our 5 hour drive to the Stirling Ranges National Park. After a pit stop for fuel and lot of laughs in the drive down we pulled into the Bluff Knoll car park around 2am. From there we put on our boots and grabbed our water bottles and cameras and off we set for our first time to summit the infamous Bluff knoll. A few stops along the way to take some photos on what was a perfect early morning walk until torchlight, we arrived at the summit shortly before 4am just as the light was starting to hit the horizon. Little did we know in the hike up just how perfect the conditions were, a cloud inversion in the distance but no loss of visibility to any of the surrounding peaks which were casting the most beautiful shadows as the sun rose over the clouds. With the 3 of us sitting silently trying to absorb what we had just witnessed after an hour we decided to begin our walk back to the car and head home after what was a truly incredible way to start a birthday.
