This personal illustration piece was created in response to the sad news of Kobe Bryant's untimely death along side his daughter Gianna and other passengers in their helicopter. 

Kobe was an icon in my teenage years where I followed the NBA and played basketball with friends in school and college. I've been wanting to create something that would capture Kobe as the larger than life figure but I found that it's very difficult to capture genius and talent in an illustration, you have to try capture the essence.
