A two-part pattern design project.

Part I: Wallpaper Factory - The project is motivated by pure art of painting and drawing and inspired after Andy Warhol’s Factory. Outcome should be a wallpaper pattern that is created out of a single or a group of motifs.

Part II: Space Studies. This project is about 2D surfaces and flat paper cutouts articulated to change their state into fully three dimensional structure. Project aim is to explore how a motif, one single unit or cluster, can be translated into irregular or regular repeat pattern across one surface. The goal for the pattern is not only to decoratively embellish the surface but to create structure that can enable for surface to eventually become fully 3 dimensional and viewed in space.
