不管城市如何发展，市区与郊区总是存在着各种各样的差别。在市区里，各种商业公司，政府部门和高端娱乐场所聚集于此；而在郊区，大型的箱型超市，外来人群聚集区，廉价国际超市，废弃的房屋等零散的分布在这里。
在双城区域，我们有一个轻轨线把这些不同的地方都联系到了一起。绿线区域，或者叫，在明尼阿波利斯，圣保罗和他们中间的一些外来人口和贫困人口聚集区之间建立起了联系。
在我的作品中，我们不仅能看到从一个城市到另一个城市的景观变化，也能从这种变化之中察觉到人们生活环境和生活方式的变化。在市区，我们可以看到高耸的建筑，匆忙的人群，（繁多的地下停车场），威严的教堂和绚丽的壁画。而在郊区，我们看到更多的是低矮的平房，无所事事的人们，杂乱无章的廉价市场和快餐店和奔波在两个城市之间的车流。这种对比不禁让我们对于城市的发展产生了困惑。即使是在逆城市化的今天，郊区依旧被中低层收入人群和外来人群主导着。在他们自我努力改善生活的同时，政府也应该给予这些城市居民更多的帮助。毕竟，我们更希望看到的，是一个不论在任何地方都充满活力的城市。
No matter how a city develops, downtown and suburban areas always have various differences. In downtown areas, different multinational companies, government sectors and high-end entertainment venues are established. In the suburban areas, big-box retailers, residential districts of flow-in population, cheap grocery stores, and abandoned buildings are scattered and reflect the diversity that is allowed with urban sprawl.
In the twin-cities area, there is a light rail which connects these different places together. The green line, which was also called central corridor, builds a close bond between the twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul and surrounding residential districts.
In my photographs about the Green Line, we can not only see the change of landscape from one city to another, but also we recognize the change of people’s living environment and life style from city to city. In downtown areas, we can see the large commercial buildings, bustling crowd, dignified churches and colorful frescoes. However, in the suburban areas, we see more of the low-rise buildings, rambling cheap stores and fast food restaurants, people who have nothing to do and the traffic traveling between the two cities. The contrast makes us feel confused about the development of the city. Even after the exodus of urban life in middle-class at the end of the 20th century, the suburban areas were still dominated by low-income and immigrant populations. At the same time, they make efforts to improve their lives, the government also has a responsibility to give them certain assistance. After all, what we want to see is a city which is full of vitality everywhere.
