For this Project for my class in college, we had to design a sculpture in aluminum with the least amount of interference at the plate possible. With that in mind, I created a clock with a spiral base.

This was my fist time working with metal and at a product design challenge, it was a lot of fun and I learned a bunch about materials, technique and painting in different surfaces.

First, I did a little mockup in paper to be sure of what I'd do with the metal plate.

The final product is this one, which I painted in black and the little lines to symbolize the numbers, then added the pointers of the clock. 

The contrast between the matte and shiny black is very interesting, as well as the white and black, the straight and curvy parts of the clock.
