Ernst & Young was one of my first major project which the product I design had been used in.
Back then, the company had limited range of Desking System which could be used for large scale free standing options.
The ones which they had been depending on had a super long lead time from ordering to delivery. And installation had always been an issues hence affecting set up timing for the installers.
Hence with their request, I was tasked to create a new range of free standing desking system for the company.
But with that, also came another required from the Clients. They wanted an add-on element on the Teknion Panels whichthey had choosen.
However, the original accessories of such add-on was not in favor for the Client's expectation as it was a little filmsy and unstable from their view.
Something has to be done.

My first challenge was of couse the design of the desking structure.
Therefore, from the approach of all the advantages and disadvantage of their existing solution, I came up with the design, which is later name "MaXXa".
Since there had been complaints about slow turn around time in terms of order, manufacturing and installation, this MaXXa system which I designed have to be able either counter or at least reduce in some ways.
My approached was to reduce number of components which will reduce inventories cost and make the system far simplier to manufacture and set up.
Therefore, from the approach of all the advantages and disadvantage of their existing solution, I came up with the design, which is later name "MaXXa".

The end product, after rushing to and forth the factory and finally paid off for a product created within 4 months.
A simple but yet versatile desking solution which only required 2 general tools to setup.

As for the Add-On Glass accessory, an extrusion was specifically design for that purpose.
Designed to accomodate not only Glass medium from a wide range of thickness, stability was also achieve up to 15" in height for 12mm thick Glass Medium.
Both the MaXXa desking solution and TKK Add-On solution was so well designed that it after that particular project, the company decided to include it into it's in-house product range and manufacturing facilities was set up for that.
