Rural School in Haiti. Competition - FINALIST

PHASES OF CONSTRUCTION
This project required to be constructed in two different phases. The first one whit four classrooms, bathrooms, a kitchen and the professor's office. The second phase included two more classrooms and a multiuse salon meant to be used in various ways.
1. Existent Land and Project Silhouette
2. Phase 1 of the building
3. Phase 2 (nd final) of the building
Exploded Axonometric:

Here we want to show the implantation and how it dialogues with the existing land. This image also shows the program and how the building can be experienced. At last we wanted to show the two independent structures that are meant to work separately in case of an earthquake.
Ground Floor Plan (Hope)
Here the two courtyards are surrounded by a resilient building. To us this represents the Haitian people around a kid that whit love, care and values is going to grow as the orchard, full of life and hope of a better future.
Axonometric Drawings (Resilience)
We understand resilience as the combination between streght, flexibility and recovery. to us these three concepts were able to be represented in the building. The school is strong because of its antisismic concrete foundation. But also is flexible because the multiple uses that a single space can provide. At last, the building because its two independent structures is able to be quickly fixed and recovered after a strong earthquake.
