In this assessment, I decided to choose ‘an architecture vast and small’ which is a technique of Junya Ishigami. We can recognize this city as cloud, wood, landscape, water and mountain. Ishigami draws inspiration from the way of nature, and he inspired structures and patterns of behavior. His artworks are the way they can become transform through lines into transparency, which is almost dissolving or substance. Furthermore, his artworks are not about logical design or spatial theories or structure principles. Additionally, things he inspired for that he sought out elements that possible such as human, technical possibility and material possibility. They look dull, and they look natural. But their active making something so fine which is high engineer exercise.
For my model, I decided to create a cloudy sky at the top, which is supported by standing lines. There is a spiral fountain at the bottom of my model. There is a reason why I did that because I had a trip around UTS campus, and I ended up at Darling Harbour. I was interested in Darling Harbour Woodward Water Feature. As I researched about Ishigami’s models, there are mostly cloud, wood, landscape, water and mountain. I chose cloud and water to present this city clearly. I also used standing thin lines to display clearly this city. I chose architecture as a spiral fountain to show clearly this technique as well.
Final ModeL OF 15 x 15 x 15 cm
