RED CROSS 143
Red Cross 143 is an initiative launched by the Philippine Red Cross. It aims to encourage each community around the country to establish a group consisting of 44 volunteers (1 leader and 43 members) who are all residents of the community. In the event of a disaster, these volunteers would be able to aid the residents using the skills they have learned through trainings from the Philippine Red Cross.
To further encourage the residents of Sta. Cruz to be a volunteer for Red Cross 143, our group in DEVC 180 (Communication Campaigns and Programs) conducted a program analysis to determine the most effective communication material for our target audience, which was a brochure.
In creating the brochure, we made sure that all the information are translated to Tagalog, since most of the residents are more comfortable reading in this language. I also highlighted the section that shows the requirements needed to be a volunteer (red background) so that it would be the first thing that would catch the readers' attention.
