River Thames Footbridge

Following on from photography of St. Philip's Bridge, Bristol, Knight Architects also commissioned me to photograph their new footbridge across the River Thames at Taplow, near Maidenhead.

The bridge has a 35m long span and connects Boulter's Lock with the Thames Path. Designed to be slender and lightweight so as to maintain the views up and down river, it's shallow arched form echoes the wide, flat arches of Brunel's Maidenhead Bridge, nearby.

The bridge provides a new amenity for the local community and is a Chiltern's Building Design Award Winner, 2019.

This project was featured in Architecture Today.
