DAYBREAK - Classification & Line Development

For our Classification and Line Development class, our project was to come up with themes and design a collection for Zara Women's. I was assigned to design for women's accessories for Holiday 2019.

Our first theme, "Daybreak" was all about shape and form. My team focused on structure through asymmetrical silhouettes, minimal decorative trim, and a minimalist aesthetic.
COLOR.

We used light core colors, pastels, with a pop of bright yellow and green to accent the collection. We wanted to create a brightness to our designs by stepping away from dark jewel tones often found in Fall/Winter/Holiday collections.
DESIGN.

Our design process started off by researching upcoming trends , reviewing recent runway shows, as well sales reports from Zara. The information we gathered set the path for our designs, determining which styles were "reach", "fashion", or "updated".  This was then followed by selecting our fabrics and trims, as well as any patterns or prints we wanted to use.
MERCHANDISING.

A collection of my team's work to show cohesiveness and alignment to our theme.
