IwamotoScott was one of a group of west coast architects invited to submit designs for second homes within a new lakeside resort community outside Beijing. Our design continues an ongoing investigation across several projects that explores a spatial dialogue between an inward orientation toward a central void or courtyard space that creates an internal focus, and an outward orientation toward the 'pull' of the striking surrounding landscape (other such projects include Goto House, Busan Opera House, Ordos Villa, Jellyfish House and Fog House).
