Helping the festival come to life
My brief was to create a series of vibrant, recognisable items that utilised the institute’s reputation and Ajyal’s confetti-like graphics. They took in a variety of formats, from large scale installations – like pop-up cinemas, shuttle buses and red carpets – to more discreet pieces that featured heavily in the media. There were also a lot of public spaces to brand. I had to consider their impact from various distances and their visibility during the day and after sunset. The esplanade, for example, featured lightboxes that stood out during the day and became a real feature in the evening.
