#Save Lefika
Lefika La Phodiso // Social Media Campaign and Rebrand // 2018

I worked closely with Lefika, a community art counselling charity based in South Africa, over 3 months with the aim to save them from bankruptcy. I worked with their CEO and various other volunteers to put together a social media strategy which would spread awareness of their situation and raise money for the charity to keep them afloat. I rebranded their Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn which were originally very generic and had no real content or coerciveness. As well as this I organised their crowdfunding page to make their situation clearer to those donating and also offer incentives to get the ball rolling.
As a key part of the project Lefika hosted a 'Christmas Postcard' fundraising event where they used art work designed by the children they help in their day to day support and counselling. I assisted with the setup, organisation and running of the event prior to the Christmas period where funding was so key. The event was a major success and helped raise up to 25% of the total goal.

After this period I conferred with a member of Lefika based in South Africa who would go on to manage the social media once I left my role. We discussed another social media strategy which would maintain the support Lefika had gained over the past couple of months and hopefully continue to gain funding over a longer period of time now that funding wasn't so urgent and bankruptcy was no longer a lingering threat.
