After spending a few weeks in the parks of Montreal doing field research, the most notable problem observed was the damage to the picnic tables. From burned wooden tables to melted plastic ones, the damage caused by portable barbecues was greatly underestimated when these tables were installed. The following solutions are conceived to reduce this type of damage while still encouraging barbecuing in the park.
