Officine Moncenisio was one of the main factories in the Turin area until the last century. Founders of the factory had shaped the urban fabric of the rural town with social housing and infrastructural interventions.

On the foundations of the old warehouses, affordable social housing, light industry, services and amenities will be offered to the new community.

Embracing the utilitarian spirit of the first owners of the factory in the 19th century, the new car-free neighbourhood will be built using shipping containers retrofitted by the redundant Moncenisio’s workers.
