Blad
An individual assignment given the spring of 2017.
The given task was to make a functional and aesthetically seating furniture as well as gaining an insight into ergonomic requirements and considerations. In addition to this, the chair were also required to have at least three floor surfaces, not weigh more than 1500 grams, nor be higher than 55 millimeters or wider than 45 millimeters.
True interviews and reflections I came to realise that a stool is rarely used and often placed in the corner of a garage covered in paint until it breaks from heavy use. I wanted to change that image and design a stool that was appreciated. As I find nature as one of my prides of beauty I started to sketch. The outcome from my sketches was Blad, a stool inspired by leaves. Blad, was then tested and developed as a prototype.
