Could Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Be Moving City?
We know that Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have already made up their mind on changing the manager for 2019 season. What remains in questions is what they’ll be doing with no stadium for the next season. Would they be moving city as well?
From a Los Angeles Times report on Tuesday by Bill Shaikin, it was clearly announced that the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim were opting out of the lease on Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California.

It was a crucial time for Angels to be working out their opting out selection for Angel Stadium. If they had not done it by Tuesday they probably would not have the chance to do it in another time as well. They would have had to wait for 2028 to do that again. And it is apparent the owner Arte Moreno was not having it so decided to take on the new venue before that missed chance could happen.

You’ll be surprised to know that the Angel Stadium was first established way back in 1966 and is marked as the 4tholdest ballpark stadium in MLB History to still be in use coming right behind Fenway Park, Wrigley Field, and Dodger Stadium. Another thing to be noticed is that it is the 11th largest stadium in terms of capacity seating 45,050 people at a time.
Other than that, it is undoubtedly the most Pitcher Friendly stadium known to have an 18 ft. the long wall in right and right center of the field. This makes it a bit of a challenge for all the Lefty hitters. Although Shohei Ohtani had no problems with it. He had hit 15 of his total 23 homers in Angel Stadium during his rookie days.

Though the venue change has already been decided the team has yet to decide for a stadium that could be a suiting substitute for Angel Stadium. There is no time to waste for the Angels as they have almost six months until the Opening Day in 2019. That is exactly the time it takes for a new ballpark to be built. Halos should be desperately looking for a new stadium for the next season.

The plans for the new Stadium for the Angels unresolved is making the fans questions whether the Angels be moving from their home city or maybe the state as well. Marie Garvey, the Angels spokeswoman didn’t hint anything on Angels Prioritizing their return to Angel Stadium though she did say that the franchise is aware of the fact that finding a Californian city in the south that is willing to invest money in building a new Ballpark is not going to be an easy task.

Does not it mean that the Angels are to be relocated sooner or later? Nothing can be said of this for sure.

The city of Anaheim will be choosing a new mayor along with the new council members in November. The Angels Management crew aims to discuss their matter with the newly elected executives to make the most of their available options before looking for a new stadium in another place.

Tom Tait, the last mayor of Anaheim didn’t approve of the stadium’s restoration as the city was not willing to invest in the stadium with the people’s money collected from taxes. But if the things have gone this far as for Angels to be losing their beloved stadium the fans must decide whose side they are on.

If for some reason the city’s people and The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim do on come to an agreement it’s a visible sign that the Angels are up for a lot of ups and downs ahead. Firstly they had to let go of a manager who has been with them for 19 long years and now they need to find a new place for their ballpark as well. We can only hope that they stay but more and more happenings are suggesting that won’t be a possibility in the least.
