City as Lines

The premise of the studio is an introduction to City Operations in that cities and buildings are largely shaped by dynamic flow of interrelated forces, such as social, political, cultural and economic.  The primary discourse for studying this concept was to produce a building design through re-mapping and re-envisioning downtown a selected site in downtown Los Angeles, California.  The re-mapping process was provided the ability to derive a form through the layering of line work and surface.  The main design challenge was to produce a museum that related to the selected site and incorporated line work and surface as a means to study the connection between the two.
