'Shilpalaya' voices the chronicles of the craftsman, craftsmanship and his craft. It stands witness to the stories of the human hand, carved in the artefacts of 16 craft communities of Uttar Pradesh, India.
With the hegemony of the machine and mass production in all spheres of life, these surviving pockets of human ingenuity argue for the frugality of means that celebrate the exuberance of the hand.
