Concept, illustration and copywriting for Macquarie University.
Instead of a traditional flyer, Macquarie Uni offered future students something a little different – a tongue-in-cheek toolbox filled with imagined tools for their future careers.
I was tasked with creating a suite of 5 nonsensical tools of the future, each relating to a faculty at the uni, and developing the 'toolbox' artwork that would form the printed DM pages. The tools had to be designed to fit snugly amongst each other in the 'toolbox' but also needed to be extracted and stand alone. The resulting illustrations were bright, comical and blended contemporary illustration with a Jetsons-style retro futurism. I also wrote a short description to go with each of the tools.
The illustrations were used in printed collateral including the DM and postcards, and were developed into a series of short animations for social and online content. They were also used to create renders and 3D printed sculptures which were displayed at the university's Open Day.
