The subject of my masters thesis is a conceptual project of the interiors of a coworking center. As a location, I chose a part of the post-industrial building of a Power Plant of Scheibler Textile Factory Complex.
The way we work has changed dramatically over the last decades. The fact that more and more young people start their own businesses means that there is a growing need for alternative ways to design jobs. The idea of coworking is one of the most sensible solutions for young entrepreneurs, due to the fact that when renting space in the office, the space is available for both work and meetings with clients, which allows for greater professionalism.
Due to the rapid development and variety of working methods, I decided to go a step further by asking myself how it would be possible to adapt the same space to different needs and perform different functions so that the resulting object would become timeless. The main intention of the project was to create an open space for young creators to work, which would be multi-functional and would meet the needs of each user. Not everyone feels
comfortable working in a typical office, in a predetermined place, that's why the designed office space is freely modifiable and can be adapted to the current requirements.
The space is divided into the office part (which can be transformed into an exhibition space), a space for temporary exhibitions, a self-service cafe, and space with bathroom and lockers. I also made the access to the second floor (and moving around the office) easier for people with disabilities by using hanging moving walls and connected both floors with a lift.
