Curatorial Assistant

Assisting curators on contemporary art exhibitions featuring internationally established artists.

Program: Exhibition research and development; Sourcing, acquiring & documenting artworks for thematic shows; Developing exhibition events and assisting in live event logistics.

Correspondence Written/ in person liaison with artists, creatives, dealers, galleries, art couriers, academics and collaborating organisations.

Administration: Exhibition documentation; Press; Social media; Sourcing sponsorship.

Interpretation: Writing exhibition material under the review of Curators; Design and print of booklets, flyers, posters & labels.

Curation: Development of floor plans, implementing curatorial techniques and methods.

Technical: Exhibition installation/ de- installation- artwork handling, artwork condition checking, artwork packaging, artwork hanging, AV installation; Handling of power tools; Space preparation-painting; Installing interpretation vinyl.

Public engagement: Exhibition/ artwork interpretation, exhibition tours and invigilation.

Supervising: Daily set up/close down of shows; Teaching volunteers installation skills and procedures.
