Football Players Visit University of Arkansas

A graduate of the University of Arkansas, Laura Leslie Hill co-founded the Siloam Springs Women’s Center, the only full-time OB/GYN clinic in the community of Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Dedicated to civic engagement, Laura Leslie Hill donates to and supports organizations such as the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).

Founded in 1879, UAMS strives to improve the healthcare and well-being of those living in Arkansas and surrounding areas. As the state’s only academic health center, UAMS educates healthcare professionals, provides quality healthcare, and offers specialty expertise not typically accessible in a community setting.

In April 2018 several NFL players paid a visit to UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, spending time with patients and passing out autographed footballs. This year marks the fifth year that Denver Broncos defensive tackle Clinton McDonald has organized the visit to the Institute. This year, accompanying him were Heisman Trophy winner and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Demetrius Harris. Retired players such as cornerback Dante Wesley, defensive end Michael Johnson, and defensive tackle Joseph Anthony Byrant were in attendance as well.
