Christina Kim's profile

Scraps: Fashion, Textiles and Creative Reuse

This exhibition shared works that use garment manufacturing waste to create more. Christina presented “the life of jamdani”, a documentation of recycling at dosa, tracking 15 years of one fabric through multiple layers of use and creative reuse. Site-specific recycled jamdani window scrims were inspired by the ornamentation of the Carnegie Mansion’s breakfast room, with designs echoing the ceiling tiles, and color palette drawn from the gardens outside. Group exhibition with Luisa Cevese, founder of Riedizioni, Reiko Sudo, co-founder of Nuno.
