Arrifana
During my bachelor I was given the challenge of designing an outdoor firepit by a national company called Cosyfire. The idea was to develop additional designs to their product spectrum following a line defined by well-being and sharing.
Arrifana is a beach in Aljezur, a small town located in the southwest of Portugal, known for its happy and welcoming local people. The firepit concept is inspired by the shape of a wave and influenced by a strong connection between the community and the sea.
I wanted to create a product with attention to user characteristics, environment and tasks. Functionality was present since the early ideations throughout the project and Its form concedes portability combined with a simple fabrication process. The material adopted was Corten metal sheet by virtue of its weather resistance, weldability and color resemblance to Aljezur’s landscape.
Arrifana was chosen to advance towards production.
