JC500 was low-priced upright bike, targeted at home gym users. It was my first design that is massive produced, and involved from ideation to modeling, solved tooling issues, color coding, and graphic design. This bike started with a symmetrical form, in order to reduce cost. It needs only one injection mold to make two similar halves.
The design of biologic style that simulates the streamline of human body, to express the energetic and muscular style. The CAD modeling was the most challenging part in the process; it needed high level of surfaces continuity because of the glossy surface finish. PTC ISDX was used in modeling to build the model, and check the surface quality and demolding via computer simulating.
