Cats rescued from kill shelters.
These are some great cats rescued in Northern California by the Milo Foundation. All of the cats pictured here were taken from local animal shelters that don't have no-kill policies, which is unfortunately very common. Quite a few shelter animals are owner surrendered, meaning that their owners turned them in knowing there was a real possibility that they would be killed. Many of the people at these shelters are hardworking and caring, but constrained by local and state laws. The Milo Foundation takes animals from these shelters and works to have them adopted, with generous help from donors and fosters families. You can also search local rescue groups and become a foster volunteer, taking animals into your care until they can be adopted to a "forever home". Please support spay/neuter legislation in your area.
