Vasaló hostel és szabadidőközpont - MOME MA Diploma
A diplomamunkámban egy volt ipari épület átalakításával foglalkoztam. A helyszín Budapest, a telek a 13. kerületben a Lőportár-dülő területén található. A Dózsa György úton áll a volt Gyógyászati Segédeszközök gyára. Már csak a lepényépületben maradt régi művégtagok emlékeztetnek az eredeti funkcióra. Érvényes bontási engedély van az épületre, de még mindig áll.
Feltételeztem, hogy még néhány évig biztosan nem kerül sor a bontásra*, így érdemes ennek a karakteres épületnek új funkciót adni. Néhány nagyobb és kisebb változtatással a toronyépületet hostellé alakítottam, a lepényépületet pedig szabadidőközpontként hasznosítanám.

Thesis project - MOME MA
In my thesis project I was dealing with the of reuse of a vacant building. This former industrial building is situated in the 13th district of Budapest. It used to be a centre where orthopedic medical aids were manufactured and it was combined with a clinic for the patients. Even if the building is significant in the history of Hungarian architecture it is not protected. Though there is a valid decision about its demolition it is still untouched. In my opinion, the building is worth keeping which is the reason for making a design for temporary reuse: converted the seven-storey tower into a hostel and the outbuilding into a recreation centre (including a catering section).
A lepényépület újrahasznosítására egy lehetséges megoldást adtam, két részre osztanám: egy vendéglátó és egy sportolásra alkalmas egységre. Utóbbi fő eleme a futópálya, a további részekben tornatermek, valamint biliárd, ping-pong és minigolf termek találhatók. A torony belső átalakítását ezzel szemben részletesen kidolgoztam. Az ábrán látható módon osztottam el a funkciókat, az alsó két szinten a szálló vendégeinek fogadása történik és közösségi terek találhatók, majd öt szinten lakószobák és a legfelső emeleten pedig egy reggeliző helyiség. /
For the outbuilding I gave only a concept (see above). Its main feature is the running track which surrounds the canteen, the social areas and the gym. The detailed concept of the tower (see below) is to have a lobby downstairs, common areas on the first floor, rooms on five floors and a cafeteria on the top floor.
A belső téralakításánál tiszteletben tartva a meglévő szerkezetet az új részeket önálló doboz-terekként terveztem meg. Ez az elv a lakószobákban is megjelenik, ahol önálló vizesblokk egységeket helyeztem el. /
The main design principle for the new interior of the tower is that new elements cannot have connection to the existing structure. This means using different size of boxes for different functions. This is clearly visible in case of toilets, bathrooms and the other newly placed functions. Also I cleared most of the existing partition walls to reach the original pillar-based system.
