Complementary Exhibit to Smithsonian Water/Ways

The Latah County Historical Society wanted to create a local exhibit to complement the traveling Smithsonian exhibit, Water/Ways. As part of the Museum on Main Street pop-up movement, Water/Ways explores the way many roles that water plays in our society, and how we relate to water and the environment.
The Historical Society needed their sister exhibit to be portable and durable for travel. We chose to print a series of large scale banners on outdoor fabric, mounting them with a wooden dowel at the top for hanging, and another at the bottom to give the banner weight to help it hang straight.
Below are some mock-ups that we worked on before choosing a final version.
We settled on a simple, versatile design that could be adapted for different themes.
