DXB202 - Week 7 [Abstraction / Light & Scale]

Playing with Light
Technique:
Film Photography

Process:
Shot on a Holga 120CFN with 120mm Colour Film.

Reasoning:
I took this image underneath the Captain Cook bridge while walking home. I liked how the light penetrating through the bridge and the shadows below created a symmetrical image.
Playing with Light 2
Technique:
Film Photography

Process:
Shot on a Holga 120CFN with 120mm Colour Film.

Reasoning:
I took this image underneath the Captain Cook bridge while walking home. I liked how the light penetrating through the bridge and the shadows below created a symmetrical image.
Playing with Light 3
Technique:
Digital Photography

Process:
Shot on iPhone 6 using ‘Slow Image’ application to create long exposure effect.

Reasoning:
I created this image as an experimentation with long exposure photography, I took an image of an Edison light bulb and set the shutter speed to 8 seconds. As i moved the camera, it created the interesting light effects that can be seen.
Cityscape
Technique:
Film Photography

Process:
Double Exposure, shot on a Holga 120CFN with 120mm Colour Film.

Reasoning:
This cityscape image was an experimentation with my Holga camera, I took an image of the city at sunset, then turned the camera upside down and took another, Exposing the film twice. The effect created is visually interesting and I'm happy with how this image turned out.
Scale
Technique:
Photography

Process:
Shot on iPhone 6. Edited in Photoshop.

Reasoning:
This image is an experimentation with scale, I used the zebra figurines to create a scene and held the camera close to make it appear as though they were life sized. I intentionally cut the top off of the blade of grass on the right to make it appear as though it was a plant taller than the figures.
