JUST YOUR EVERYDAY STREET

TECHNIQUE
IPHONE Photography

PROCESS
Camera: IPHONE 5C

This photo was taken during the Week 7 tutorial outside, around the Kelvin Grove campus. I stuck these two mini trees into the gap between pavement  and placed a toy car on the ground to create this street scape scene. I took this photograph using my Iphone 5C and natural outdoor lighting.

REASONING
I wanted this picture to confuse viewers and make them think the car and tress were life size, however in reality they were extremely small. I lowered the camera as close to the ground as possible in the effort to convince people that the props were larger then they really were.

REFLECTION
I believe I was able to capture a photograph of micro object and make them seem as though they were life size, however I think I could've made this shot more effective if I got even closer to the ground so that the car and trees appeared even larger.

ARE THESE ROBOTS LIFE SIZE

TECHNIQUE
DSLR Photography

PROCESS
Camera: Canon EOS 400D
Iso: 130
Aperture: f/14.0
Shutter speed: 1/160

I placed these palm sized robots in amongst a timber lattice in my background giving the illusion that these were life sized robots climbing a wall. I positioned my camera so that  lens height matched with the eye level of the props giving the illusion that they are much bigger then they truly are. I adjusted the brightness and contrast to 15 in photoshop to add a bit more punch to the image.

REASONING
I also wanted this photograph to confuse viewers and make them question whether the robots were life size or just toys.

REFLECTION
I love the way the brightly coloured toy robots stand out from the natural timber in the the background. this combination of colours allows the robots to be the feature in the photograph.

POLICE SCENE

TECHNIQUE
DSLR Photography

PROCESS
Camera: Canon EOS 400D
Iso: 130
Aperture: f/14.0
Shutter speed: 1/160

I positioned a toy lego police van and police officer on some pavement outside in the effort to make it seem like a police scene on an everyday street. i edited the image on photoshop by manipulating the brightness and contrast to 15.

REASONING
I also wanted this photograph to confuse viewers and make them question whether the police and van were real life sized, where in reality they were made from very small pieces of lego.

REFLECTION
To make this scene look more realistic I could've lowered my camera further so that the props appeared even larger.

LIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY 1

TECHNIQUE
DSLR Light photography

PROCESS
Camera: Canon EOS 700D
Iso: 100
Aperture: f/11
Exposure time:13 sec.

This photo was taken in class time using a DSLR camera. I tired to take this picture with no added lighting as I wanted to light painting to stand out and starkly contrast the background. I wasn't able to take this picture in a completely dark room as that was not available at Uni at the time therefore I manipulated the image in photoshop to replicate the intended effect. I firstly changed the gradient to black and white and then i turned he contrast up to 100. This editing allows the bright light painting to stand out and contrast the dark background very effectively.

REASONING
My classmate behind the lens wanted to experiment writing her initials with the light and it turned out to be quite effective.

REFLECTION
This was my first time light painting and I found it to be a very enjoying experience. This type of photography also allowed me to be brave in experimenting with and changing camera settings.

REASONING
My classmate behind the lens decided to wave her phone around randomly creating this circular light pattern.

REFLECTION
This was my first time light painting and I found it to be a very enjoying experience. This type of photography also allowed me to be brave in experimenting with and changing camera settings.
