Imagine researching  for a paper using the vast resources provided by the library. Your desk is cluttered with the laptop, 7 books, 3 article print outs, and 56 note cards - you knocked over the coffee...

Many libraries today are outdated, underfunded, and most are not equipped as  modern learning environments, falling behind on the technology curve. We took our research to the source and talked to people who worked and spent time there.
The role of the library is changing and current technology systems are poorly integrated
It is a public space that has a variety of roles and increased emphasis on digital sources and database.

Organization and accessibility of information is key
Difficult to learn with poor UX. Technological literacy is a barrier to entry. Systems are difficult to keep updated.

Disconnect between the user, the librarian, and the library
There is an overwhelming amount of information outlets that need to be synthesized

Finding relevant information and using proper search parameters can be challenging
Librarians and library users don’t speak the same language. The systems in place were not designed by users. Many library users do not understand what is available to them at the library.

People value the experience and sense of discovery a library provides
Creating a tactile experience is important. Physical relationships between ideas and topics is helpful when seeking information
Revitalizing the library by connecting people to the information they need to succeed
