This is the project called “Monograph Cover”. A monograph is defined as “a detailed written study of a single specialized subject or an aspect of it.” In this project I applied the research conducted into my assigned typographer “William Caslon” and designed the cover and title page for a book on the subject.

William Caslon is a British Typographic. He was born in Worcestershire in 1693. He got his influences from Ducth designers to create typeface. He established “William Caslon Foundry” in 1719. His subsequence typeface was instant success. The typeface that he created is belongs to family of “Roman”. He aimed to create such amazing typeset that made the reader flow over the text design without interfering content” From follow function”. He published a specimen sheet in 1734 presenting thirty-seven typefaces to secure his credit as Britain’s premier typographer. This project was definitely fun as I get to explore new way of creating layout and play around with typography.
