Three Must-See Art Museums in Paris

For more than three decades, Robert Fishko has served as the director of Forum Gallery in New York City, where he oversees all acquisitions and artist and customer relations. In his free time, Robert Fishko enjoys visiting art museums and other locations in Europe.

Paris has long been recognized as one of the great cultural capitals of the world. Here are three can’t-miss art museums in the City of Lights:

- Musee d’Orsay: Located in a former railway station, the museum plays host to the largest collection of impressionist and postimpressionist art in the world. Musee d’Orsay should rank at the top of the list for admirers of Gauguin, Manet, Monet, Renoir, and Van Gogh.

- Musee Rodin: Situated in the former workshop and showroom of Auguste Rodin himself, the Musee Rodin includes some of the most famous works of the master sculptor. The museum’s peaceful rose garden features Rodin’s “The Thinker” and “The Gates of Hell.”

- The Louvre: No list of Paris museums would be complete without the Louvre, which serves as the home of some of the most storied artworks from the Western tradition. Visitors can view the famous “Mona Lisa,” “Venus de Milo,” and “The Winged Victory of Samothrace.”
