Firefly Music Festival Brand

Firefly Music Festival is a music festival that has been held every year since 2012 in The Woodlands of Dover, Delaware for four days in June. It is famous for having a multitude of indie and alternative rock bands such as Ok Go, The Black Keys, and Modest Mouse that play on seven different stages. Every year, it brings thousands of people together from all around the globe.

The festival’s natural location makes the event unique from all others. In this rebranding project, I focused on keeping its natural aspects alive through the use of hand-made elements like watercolors and environmental images. My logo captures the fleeting nature of fireflies themselves, and their tendency to flutter as if to music. This visual element also reflects the exciting feeling one is overcome by from the music at the festival.

This marketing piece combines both the nature and musical elements of this festival. It would be achieved through painting liquid moss on brick walls around Delaware, and letting it grow into unexpected advertisements that engage passerby's sense of wonder.
This marketing piece brings an unexpected element of nature into the cities of Delaware with live fireflies. Large-scale glass containers, including a mason jar and a box, will temporarily live on the streets while the fireflies flutter and illuminate inside them.
