Bethesda Level Design Test: Skyrim
Level design for Valpuri's Curse, this concept formed the basis of a successful level design test for Bethesda Softworks. The initial concept and skeleton of the level were iterated on to produce the final result. The quest and story structure was streamlined into a better experience for the player and the level was designed for convenience of handing im and finishing the questline.
From the start the intention was to make a level that would both give the player a sense of awe and allow for dramatic spaces and wide vistas.
Throughout the process these maps formed a solid base from which to construct the experience, the final level even after iteration is still mostly the same in structure and pacing.
