The story behind this product is on the Ethnic Integration Policy that was implemented on 1 March 1989 to promote racial integration and harmony in Housing and Development (HDB) estates of Singapore. Whereby, the different races of families would come together and live in a community that is proportionately distributed in different housing estates to ensure and maintain an ethnic balance as a means to foster social and racial cohesion.
Thereby, I derived in making this product called Under One Roof to show the positive result of the Ethnic Integration Policy since its date of implementation. The results shows that Singaporeans actually benefit from this policy and they are living happier than before this law was imposed.
Also with Singapore being the only country with numerous high rise buildings due to the limited land supply, I decided to use this idea for my packaging as it would be more unique in a way for tourist to bring back to their country.
