Kanye West: Wolves Project

The assignment was to design a cd/album cover and poster for an artist's album or song. I chose Kanye West's Wolves. In my design, I wanted to implement what I knew about the song, the artist, and to try and maximize my abilities by conducting major research. I wanted to go for a design that was fashion driven, captivating and pleasing to the eye. The face in the moon is my version of a picasso styled piece inspired
by the era of Cubism. I was able to successfully execute this approach by understanding the usage of different perspetives used to make the face. The song titled “Wolves” sounds very drury, dark, and moody which lead me to choose an array of dark imagery and a pale blue monochromatic scheme. By choosing different areas to illuminate, I was able to acheive a seemless contrast between each component of imagery. The typeface for Wolves was meant to resemble the look of tree branches to tie more so into the theme of where Wolves dwell (the woods). Overall, my approach was to simply give another visual thematic for the song and to accurately portray what Kanye West was going for. I am very satas ed with the approach I took.
