1979 to present
In 1979 I purchased my first camera, a Canon AE-1 and ever since then I've been fascinated by what pictures can communicate.
While doing a building inspection one day I discovered this area of water damaged gyp. bd. and the abstract beauty of it really hit me. Here I've put it into Photoshop and rendered it to enhance those characteristics I found most interesting.
Fajada Butte at Sun Set to see it up close is truly awesome.
A lone Sailboat on the Aegean Sea. The first image I ever sold.
Green algae on river rocks. I always find this a very calming image.
In 1986 I started doing some underwater photography. This is a pinkish Brittle Star Fish trying to hide from me in a sponge.
Here I used a program I found on the internet to add the sunlight sparkles to what was a good but uninteresting lily photo.
This was a great sun set that I shot from the Santa Fe Opera house as I waited for Don Giovanni to start. I used Photoshop to turn this photo into more of a watercolor like image and enhance the color difference between the mountain ranges.
Architectural details from a summer spent traveling Greece and Turkey studying the architecture at the boundary between eastern and western cultures.
Another Underwater image of a black Brittle Star Fish with Red spines on a bright orange sponge. If you look very closely you can see lots of little white baby star fish on the sponge also.
My Grandfather was a fighter pilot in the Pacific during WWII and i inherited many of his old photos from this time period. Some of the photos were not in the best shape so I started scanning them and repairing them using Photoshop. For me preserving history in this way is tremendously satisfying.
When my Grandmother passed away I started to work on a composite for her memorial service program. This was just shortly after I started using Photoshop and well before i took any classes on photo manipulation. Still one of my favorites but I do need to work on the typography a bit.

My photography is mostly personal but I did sell some of my images through Rae's studio in Dallas Texas for a few years.
