Designing with Glyphs

Finished Compositions Mounted on Foam Board
In this project, my goal was to take simple glyphs and design them in such a way that expresses the personality and beauty of each typeface.
In the first composition, I used Stempel Garamond, a very elegant serif typeface, and I wanted to showcase the beautiful strokes of each character as they move and change.
The second piece uses Neue Haas Grotesk, which is very geometric in many aspects. I wanted to show how the shapes of the letters work together and really take advantage of the negative space they create.

Composition 1 - Horizons in Stempel Garamond
Composition 2 - Industria in Neue Haas Grotesk
