The site today is a empty space mostly used for parking. Towards the north and westthe plaza is cut off
from the city by heavy traffic going in direction towardsthe center of Copenhagen. To thesouth is a large scale public service building that creates another barrier andto the east there is two cultural houses: the upper cultural house is used by mostly young people and the lower is used by the general public.
The program  was very complex and asked for adesign solution that would benefit all types of users, with multiple types ofactivities, small and large scale events, to be an icon for the city and to besustainable.
The park is the green space on the platforms deck. Coveredwith grass and divided into areas with flowers.
A place to seek peace, privacy behind the treecrowns, sunlight and also the possibility to observe the city from a distance.
The plazais a gathering point, its links to the city and is based on an open organization.
The plan. Whatis covered or not covered by the platform defines different types of spaces. But all the spaces are transitional and thus can work independently ortogether, to respond to the different needs of small and big events. Thecovered spaces can be used for exhibition, flea markets etc without concerningwith the weather.
The platform is to be made of scrap steel, from scrapped ships and build in elements in a shipyard in Denmark. Insteadlike it happens today where old Danish ships goes to India and is cut up inpieces in a toxic environment.
