1883 - Clothing Brand

Rugged quality clothing with a timeless sense of style since 1883. Go ahead and put up your dukes, because our clothes are for those who aren't afraid to roll with the PUNCHES.

1883 got it's start in 1880, when Samuel Higgins, a shop owner from England, built a boxing ring in the back of his shop for personal use. Sam worked as a hat maker, but struggled to turn a profit. By 1883, he noticed local dock workers were beginning to use his ring after their shifts. Sam acted quickly, creating an elite boxing club featuring the legendary three x's that allowed entry to the ring. The timeless pea coat, worn by the original dock workers frequenting the ring, is still a popular item. Traditional fabrics like wool and cotton team up with man-made fibers to create clothing that our customers can rely on for everything from ten rounds in the ring to a leisurely stroll.

This was a group clothing branding project that was centered around the legendary three red x's. Pieces I created for the project include, clothing tags, gift card and gift card holder, custom leather pieces including bracelets, key chains, and jean labels, magazine ad and postcard, clothing transfer, gift bag, business card and spray painted wood pallet.
