The prompt for this project was a poem. We had to take that poem as if it were the synopsis for a novel and create a book cover fitting the story. The poem American Empathy shared the story of a widow recovering from her war veteran husband’s death; after thinking about it, I settled on the colder side of hospital life and the healing process everyone goes through when “recovering” from such things as death or injury. To capture this idea, I modeled the cover after blood and IV bags.
