Egon Schiele Retrospective Book

Egon Schiele lived a very short and sad life. He died at the age of 28 years old to the Spanish flu pandemic, only a few days after his wife and family had passed away from the same thing. His best friend and his mentor was Gustav Klimt. Throughout his life, Klimt was always there for him and was a huge influence on his life. Using this information, I decided to design this book based off the idea of expressionism: taking in what happens around you and use that towards your artwork or art form.

Inside of Book Jacket
For the first section of the book, it focuses on 10 years before Egon’s birth in Vienna. This section also focuses on the artists and other art movements that influenced him. The main section of the book, which takes up over half of the book, covers his short life. This includes his hatred for his Mother and the death of his Father, his imprisonment, World War 1, and his death. The last section of the book contains the artist he had influenced with his work.
